Send backorder notification to customer when product is out of stock in Shopify by using Arigato Automation
Notify customers of out-of-stock items upon order placement, ensuring transparency in inventory status.
This automation is fired when an order is created. It loops through all the line items, checking to see if any of them is out of stock. If any of the items are out of stock, the workflow sends an email notification to the customer, letting them know that it is currently out of stock.
The workflow can also be extended to send the notification to your warehouse/procurement team to facilitate the internal ordering process.
Protips: For best performance, the inventory policy for all the items should be set to allow. This way, your customers will still be able to place orders for the items.
